• Families for Home Education (FHE) – we work to protect the rights of all Missouri families to homeschool their children, including families with children with special needs.  FHE board members are trained to help families transition out of the public school, work through the Individual Education Plan (IEP) process, as well as assist families in getting started on the homeschool adventure.

• Homeschooling Kids Who Can is a support group based out of the Kansas City area for parents home educating children with special needs.  The group meets monthly, September-May, and has a Yahoo group where members can share ideas, invite others to join them on field trips, and ask questions.

• Home School Legal Defense Association  – a national legal organization working to protect the rights of homeschoolers.  Their website includes an entire area specific to challenged learners, including the law, evaluating for learning delays, resources, and ideas.  They also have special needs coordinators on staff to answer questions over the phone or via e-mail.
